Performance Levels

Raw scores students receive on the tests are converted into scaled scores and then into performance levels (emerging, novice, proficient, or advanced). Converting scores to performance levels brings the PASA in compliance with the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) and No Child Left Behind (NCLB), and allows the scores of students who took the PASA to be aggregated with scores of students who took the PSSA for the purpose of district accountability.
