Test items that require oral responses have been adapted to accommodate students who are non-verbal
and use alternate modes of communication to demonstrate their reading and math skills.
Skills designated with an "AAC" in the top right hand corner of the standard Test Booklet should be replaced with the adapted test items
that are in the PDF files below. The materials (e.g., picture/word cards, number line/chart, etc.) used in the adapted test items
are included in the files. For more information about providing accommodations for students who are non-verbal, refer to
the training PPT from the January webinar.
To ensure that the performance of the students who are deaf/hard-of hearing are scored accurately, please do the following:
- State on camera that the student will be assessed with replacement skills for students who are deaf/hard-of-hearing.
- Indicate on the media bag label that the adapted test items from the PASA website were used.
- Indicate on the Supporting Documentation Form that the replacement skills for students who are deaf/hard-of-hearing are being used.
